EverWind Fuels announced a 420 MW AI data centre at Point Tupper, with Anthropic leasing the first 95 MW phase for at least 20 years (online by end of 2027; 325 MW more in 2028). EverWind plans four onshore wind farms to supply it and a Membertou-led Mi'kmaw consortium is negotiating a 9% stake. For Baddeck this is the demand case made real: the province now needs new generation near that load, and independent wind already in consultation is the quickest to deliver.
