Accessibility

A public consultation that some people cannot read is not a public consultation. This site is built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we will fix what falls short.

What we have done

• Text and interface colours meet AA contrast ratios; nothing is conveyed by colour alone.
• All pages work with keyboard navigation and screen readers; forms have visible labels and focus states.
• Animations respect your reduce motion system setting — the wind and grid animations render as still images.
• The site is responsive down to 320 px and works without JavaScript for all essential content.
• Plain-language summaries accompany every technical document.

Alternative formats

Any document on this site is available in large print, plain text or as an accessible PDF on request. Interpretation — including Mi'kmaw and French — is available for meetings with our team. Ask at community@awel.ca or (782) 222-WIND.

Comment without the website

You can make a consultation submission by phone, by post, or in person. Every channel is treated identically in the regulatory record.

Tell us what is not working

If you find something on this site you cannot use, email community@awel.ca with the page and the problem. We aim to fix accessibility issues within 10 business days and will tell you when it is done.
